5. The Undertaker

You had to know this guy was going to pop up at some point. By far one of the most infamous gimmicks in pro wrestling folklore, The Undertaker has only just (potentially) retired from active wrestling. Should WrestleMania 33 be his last hurrah, then 'Taker leaves behind decades of hair-raising moments.

It isn't just the original 'Deadman' Undertaker that qualifies either, because fans who watched during the 'Attitude Era' will recall a character who attempted to crucify Steve Austin and sacrifice Stephanie McMahon. All the while 'Taker acted like some sort of infernal overlord. The 'Ministry Of Darkness' gimmick was by far one of the best incarnations of Undertaker.

Go back to those early days of 1990-93 for a character that left children petrified of the giant zombie ambling his way towards ringside. Paul Bearer, 'Taker's long-serving manager, must take some credit for feeding the fear machine too, because his shrill performances complemented the mute, haunting presence of The Undertaker amazingly well.
