WrestleMania XXX featured the most unexpected and unforgettable moment in the event's long and illustrious history as Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to end his storied undefeated streak.

The unsettling silence that filled the Superdome in New Orleans was haunting, the shock that had overwhelmed the audience painted on their faces. Paul Heyman, advocate for Lesnar, placed his hand over his mouth, speechless for the first time in his entire career.

As graphics denoting "21-1" flashed on the big screen, the wrestling world was forced to accept the reality.

The end of The Streak brought about considerable controversy, if only for the fact that it robbed WrestleMania of one the elements that made the event so special.

Dating back to 1997, when Jim Ross first brought to light the fact that the Deadman was undefeated at the grand event, his matches had become a staple of the production.

What the competitor did at any given Showcase of the Immortals was important, if not more so, than anything else that occurred on the show.

With the demise of the streak came the safest money-maker on the 'Mania card. As witnessed by the sentiments captured in social media and the comments on many an Internet article covering the event, it also killed the childhoods of several longtime wrestling fans who had never known a period in which Undertaker's streak was not in full effect.
