10 Most Controversial Wrestling Tweets Ever

9. Seth Rollins Says WWE Is The Best Pro Wrestling In The World, Period

WWE isn't even a pro wrestling promotion, technically, so he was objectively wrong from the beginning.

He was also objectively wrong because WWE was absolutely f*ck-awful in 2019, what with its deliriously contrived Two Out Of Three Falls matches and Wild Card Rule creating new levels of sh*t on top of the existing, putrid stench of nightmarish continuity, uniform match layouts and operatically lame and tediously overlong scripted promos.

Rollins nonetheless tweeted, ahead of a terrible and tarped-off Stomping Grounds pay-per-view, that WWE was the "Best pro wrestling on the planet. Period."

If we'd known what was to come - the sermon promos, Eye For An Eye matches, and the endless Mysterio melodrama that followed the heel turn this tweet ignited - we'd have probably just agreed with him. Sure, Seth. Best wrestling. Big wink. Anything to never hear the words "Greater good" and to avoid the nihilistic optics of an antipodean in his 30s sliding into a 19 year old's DMs.

People, quite naturally, were mystified by this meltdown, collectively protesting with words to the effect of "But you're about to main event with Baron Corbin," "AEW is one show deep and is already miles better," and "You are months away from getting disqualified in a Hell In A Cell match for using a smaller hammer than your opponent".
