10 Most Copied Finishing Moves In Wrestling History

6. The Superkick

Shawn Michaels made one of the simplest moves in all of pro wrestling, the Superkick, into something unique to him. By bending his upper body in the opposite direction of his kick, he created the illusion that his Sweet Chin Music was far more devastating than it really was.

As a result, a lot of wrestlers decided to follow in Shawn’s footsteps and have added the Superkick into their regular move-sets, which has, in effect, ruined the move’s overall effectiveness. In WWE alone, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler, Rusev, Sami Zayn and Neville all use the Superkick as either a signature move or just something to use in preparation for their Superstar comebacks.

Because of that, the Superkick isn’t as awesome a move as it used to be, and it barely gets a major reaction anymore. It seems that many wresters have attempted to emulate HBK’s finishing move in the hopes of cashing in on his success, but it hasn’t worked out so well.

Because of this explosion of WWE superstars (not to mention independent wrestlers) using the Superkick, there’s no way that such a maneuver could ever be perceived as a match-ending move ever again.

Maybe if one of those aforementioned WWE Superstars actually won a match with the Superkick, instead of using it just for the sake of using it, this problem wouldn't exist.
