10 Most Creative Match Finishes In WWE History
2. Asuka Has Mist To Hand (Night Of Champions 2023)
Not a single soul honestly felt that Bianca Belair's dominant run as Raw Women's Champion was in any danger coming into this year's Night of Champions show.
Despite debuting a new look in WWE at the Rumble reminiscent of the one she showed off as Kana in her time pre-sports entertainment, Asuka still lost cleanly to the 'EST of WWE' at WrestleMania 39.
And the way the company built up the pair's eventual rematch didn't exactly suggest the challenger was a credible threat, with Asuka simply unleashing another few versions of her mist attack on the champ during the weeks prior to the PLE.
In the end, though, all that misting was simply a way of planting a seed for an unquestionably creative finish to the rivals' incoming battle.
The "mist to the eyes for the win" gimmick has become increasingly stale within the wrestling business of late. And just when it looked as though this women's title fight was about to be added to the ever-growing list, something brilliant happened.
After failing in her latest attempt to spit the blinding liquid into Belair's eyes, the 'Empress of Tomorrow' sneakily covered her fingers with the substance while the ref wasn't looking and proceeded to put the champ's eyes out whilst sitting in the KOD.
Not only was Asuka then kicking Belair's head off for the win a delightful twist, the whole finish was one that painted the winner as a terrifying genius.
