10 Most Creative Ways Wrestlers Cheated To Win

3. Brass-Necked Spike Fools Regal With His Own Brass Knucks - Spike Dudley, Monday Night Raw, 28 April 2002

A deliciously cute conclusion to a long-running William Regal gimmick finish, Spike Dudley's pinching of the European Champion's second set of brass knuckles allowed him to snare the title in the same time it took to pin the downed Brit's shoulders to the mat.

Regal's weapon had become a known threat in the company after months of using and abusing it, but the referee pre-match disposal of the device freed the Blackpool bruiser up to lodge a second pair underneath the top turnbuckle.

Unlike almost every wrestler in recorded history, Spike was actually watching the broadcast before entering, darting as he did to the corner to steal the item before the referee made his final checks. A sucker-punch instantly flawed Regal (belt around his waist and all), gifting the gold to Dudley and delivering overdue comeuppance to the fiendish former Champion. At last it was he made to look stupid by the bait-and-switch, gratifying audiences after months of fan frustration with his successful shortcut.
