10 Most Cringeworthy WWE Backstage Segments

5. The Turning Point

It took WWE longer than most assumed to take inadvertently loveable NXT loudmouth Enzo Amore and make him a figure of hate on the main roster, but most pinpoint his hideous one-night near-tryst with Lana as the exact moment the sympathy for the impish New Yorker drained away for good.

The 5 December 2016 edition of Monday Night Raw saw several segments dedicated to Big Cass' problematic pal getting suckered into a beatdown from the 'Bulgarian Brute' after attempting to transform a white knight intervention into a dangerous liaison with the 'Ravishing Russian'.

After an unintentionally abysmal backstage blow-up between Lana and Rusev, Enzo was teased into tracking down her hotel room for the implied obvious. With the exception of Amore's R Kelly rendition, the whole thing was rather unconvincing even when Ric Flair rocked up to send Enzo on his way to... ahem..."take care of business".

The ruse was revealed as Big Cass waited in the ring for a match with Rusev. Cameras cut to the hotel room where the 'Smacktalker Skywalker' grappled with the ethics of his situation just long enough to be caught with his pants down and smashed all over the suite by Lana's waiting hubby. He had it coming too - and the character never truly escaped out of the Sports Entertainment sinkhole.
