10 Most Cringeworthy WWE Backstage Segments

3. How To Lose Friends And Alienate People

Sprinkled with an affectionate callback to the largely loved Team Hell No segments several years earlier, Sasha Banks and Bayley's session with Dr Shelby failed from both a storyline and kayfabe perspective to rebuild what has been tragically lost between the two NXT icons.

Bad acting, scripting, pacing and the fundamental lack of an appreciative outcome (at this point, at least) rendered the whole thing incredibly wasteful of the heat the pair had instantly generated during Bayley's snapping against 'The Boss' a week earlier.

The potential fun and enthusiasm looked drained from the pair when their overdue heated singles clash failed to make the WrestleMania card, but the company's decision to revisit sounded rewarded by the huge response towards 'The Hugger's attack.

There's every chance the two ultra-talented stars will rebound from this between the ropes when their pay-per-view moment comes, but a segment like this again espoused the weaknesses of both rather than exploiting their litany of positives fans are unwilling to forget. An emotional investment is still a requirement of a match as legendary as their 2015 TakeOver: Brooklyn epic - SummerSlam's Barclays Center return feels a lot longer than two months away.
