10 Most Dangerous WWE Matches Ever
1. Mankind Vs The Undertaker - King Of The Ring (1998)
Even though WWE is always eager to make their shows bigger and more bombastic, nothing can compete with the Hell In a Cell match from 1998's King of the Ring. Because the fight had glutton-for-punishment Mankind squaring off against the towering Undertaker in a unique format, everyone expected them to put on a solid show.
But it wasn't just entertaining - it was a gladiatorial spectacle. Mere minutes into the bout, the pair were on the cage's roof. Moments later, Undertaker tossed his opponent off the edge, causing him to crash onto the commentator's table below. As the audience gazed in disbelief at this unprecedented occurrence, all Jim Ross could say was, "Good God, he killed him!" If Undertaker had fought any other wrester, this incident would've concluded the match.
But Mankind is not just "another wrestler". Despite suffering a dislocated shoulder, internal bleeding, a concussion, puncture wounds, and bruised ribs, Mankind didn't stay down. After dislocating his jaw and losing two teeth, all Mankind did was smile. When he was carried off in a stretcher, he hopped off, allowing his rival to continue beating him to a pulp. When Undertaker accidentally choke-slammed him through the cage into the ring below, Mankind got back up (and more importantly, didn't die.)
As epic as this match was, fans were reassured when it was over, since they were genuinely worried someone would get killed.
