Triple H has proven time and time again to be one of the best in the game (no pun intended). However, Hunter Hearst Helmsley's career nearly came to an end after sufferingly a seemingly innocent fall. On May 21st 2001, the Raw main event had Triple H & Stone Cold Steve Austin fighting Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit.

While Austin was caught in Jericho's finisher, Triple H leapt in to break it up. Although Triple H looked like he landed softly, the impact caused the 14-time World champion's quad to tear open. As he said in a Flex exclusive interview,

"As I planted my left foot, there was a snap, and a pain like someone had run a hot welding iron up my leg. I felt the quad muscles roll up my thigh. What happened was that I had torn the intermedius completely off the tendon attachment."

Because it was impossible for Triple H to put pressure on his leg, he should've checked out of the match as soon as possible. Instead, The Game continued on, allowing Chris Jericho to perform the Walls of Jericho on him, despite the force it put on his shredded quad.

Although Triple H must be commended for pushing through the pain, his dedication could've left him crippled.
