10 Most Disappointing Nights In WWE History
6. WrestleMania XXVII
Opening the show with a world title match is just a horrible idea. It didn't work at WrestleMania XXVIII, where Daniel Bryan was humiliated in 18 seconds, and it didn't work here.
In fact, this show never really recovered from its disappointing opening bout, in which Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio failed to make real his boyhood dreams against Edge in a lacklustre 10-minute curtain-raiser.
In subsequent matches, the remnants of The Nexus (now going under "The Corre") were buried in under two minutes by Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston and Santino Marella; Randy Orton and CM Punk were uncharacteristically off their game; and, oh yeah, Michael Cole got a full 15 minutes in the ring.
Undertaker's era-defining match with Triple H was undeniably amazing, but that wasn't the note we ended on. Instead, it was The Miz's hugely underwhelming WWE Title defence against John Cena, a clash that proved the former wasn't yet ready for the main event, and which not even The Rock, the night's "guest host", could rescue.
