10 Most Disappointing Nights In WWE History

7. WrestleMania 2000

WrestleMania 2000 is perhaps a cautionary tale in what happens when you take seven of your biggest stars and put them in just two matches. The rest of the card is almost inevitably going to suffer as a result.

In fact, even the show's two marquee encounters ended up being somewhat disappointing. Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho, booked in a two-fall triple threat match for the Intercontinental and European Titles, were allowed to go a frankly insulting 13 minutes.

The four-way main event, meanwhile, got plenty of time - but much of it was simply uninteresting. The idea that Mankind and Linda McMahon would end the night standing tall was fanciful, and the same could probably be said of Big Show and Shane too.

Granted, the triangle ladder match between the Hardys, Dudleys and Edge & Christian, though not as good as next year's TLC, was a fabulous under-card curtain-raiser. It's just that everything else fell short of expectations in a big way. Plus: no singles matches on the entire card?* It's WrestleMania, for god's sake.

*Terri Runnels versus The Kat doesn't count.
