10 Most Disappointing Nights In WWE History
4. December To Dismember
Vince McMahon has been accused of inadvertently tarnishing ECW's legacy with his half-baked 2006 revival of Paul Heyman's passion project, but that's simply not true. Anyone who saw December To Dismember will know that there was nothing inadvertent about it.
Expectations going into this one, to be fair, weren't exactly through the roof. For one thing, WWE had only announced a couple of matches, with the rest of them to be cobbled together on the night itself from the threadbare remains of the ECW roster.
But there was still reason to believe they'd pull something out the bag at last minute. After all, at this point the rebooted ECW brand had hosted two official pay-per-views in One Night Stands 2005 and 2006, both of them resounding successes. Surely this one would follow suit.
Suffice it to say, it didn't. The headline Elimination Chamber bout - ostensibly "extreme", in that there were a smattering of weapons thrown in - was the worst-ever of its kind, and as for the under-card, well, there have been episodes of Velocity with more exciting matches.
