10 Most Disappointing Wrestling Entrance Stages Ever
8. WrestleMania 2000
Though by no means terrible, the stage from WrestleMania 2000 makes this list for simply being plain and unremarkable. For any other event, that may be excusable but for WrestleMania, a little bit of set dressing goes a long way.
That's not to say that a return to toga parties or any other other silly gimmick was needed but the scope of the event was lacking.
Modern, stadium bursting WrestleManias are a completely different animal from the events at the turn of the millennium. You simply couldn't fit a roller-coaster or Statue of Liberty in to the Honda Center in Anaheim. Regardless of space, if you looked at the set without the graphics, you would be hard pressed to guess what event it even came from.
The WrestleMania 2000 stage was highlighted by three large screens and minimal scaffolding surrounding them. The 'Manias either side of 2000 at least went for a scale and immediate notability befitting the event.
Just four years earlier, the same venue hosted WrestleMania XII, a show with its own minimalistic entrance stage. Considering how far WWE had come in those four years and the popularity that it was enjoying, the progression should have been a lot more noticeable.
To put things into perspective, just a month later, WWE introduced the infamous Backlash swinging blades and created a set that is still talked about fondly to this day.
