10 Most Disappointing WWE Feuds Of The 2000s

10. Rey Mysterio Vs. Chavo Guerrero - 2006/07

Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio are two pretty damn excellent workers with great chemistry together. They'd shown in WCW and WWE that the could get business done in the ring. So the prospect of a major feud between the two stars in 2006 was a promising one. Chavo 'retired' in early 2006 (he still worked house shows but they don't count) following the death of his uncle Eddie and was mostly seen publicly supporting Rey in his quest to become World Heavyweight Champion. Chavo was there when Rey captured the gold at WrestleMania 22 and they seemed to be the best of friends but then Chavo inexplicably turned on Rey at the Great American Bash, costing him his title in his match with King Booker. Okay, so it was obvious that Chavo would turn at some point and lead to a series between the two. Regrettably, the series was marred by Eddiesploitation and constant needless references to Latino Heat. Chavo claimed that Rey was a leech, living off the Guerrero name and that he, not Rey, should have been the one to achieve WrestleMania glory. In the ring, their matches weren't too great, either. Their opener at SummerSlam was disappointing and their Falls Count Anywhere match at No Mercy was fun had a decidedly midcard flavour for what was supposed to be a blood feud. The rivalry was put on hold so that Rey could have major re-constructive knee surgery, with Chavo taking him out during an I Quit match on Smackdown. When Rey returned the feud resumed and boasted a couple of decent matches at SummerSlam and another I Quit match on Smackdown, but the WWE universe were well past the point of caring.
