In hindsight, WWE might wish they'd given hard-edged bad ass Shayna Baszler the Raw Women's Title back at WrestleMania 36. Even if they didn't know Becky Lynch's pregnancy plans ahead of time (the timeline has been debated back and forth on that one), it was obvious that her run was sagging.

'The Man' needed to take a break from dominating the women's division, and Baszler was the perfect choice to replace her. Sadly, she's been de-emphasised in recent times. Shayna will likely thrust herself back into the title mix against Asuka, but 'Mania felt like a misstep for her career progression.

Losing clean in eight minutes did nothing for her.

Everything had looked so promising when Baszler won out at Elimination Chamber and relentlessly stalked Becky before WrestleMania. Although WWE clearly felt Lynch had more gas in the tank, they didn't need to sacrifice Shayna like they did.
