11 Most Disturbing Family Member Angles In WWE History
10. Vince Beats The Hell Out Of His Own Daughter
For all the criticism that can be thrown at Vince McMahon (and trust me, there's a Homeric epic's worth of material), he can never be accused of being too afraid to get hands-on with his product. He may have booked a boatload of bloody PPV brawls, but he's also starred in a fair few himself. He might have allowed Mick Foley, Jeff Hardy, et al. to destroy themselves via all manner of crazy high spots, but he also let his own son jump off the Titantron (three times). It therefore makes sense that, for all the offensive, unsettling family-based angles written for his superstars, Vince has historically been very willing to get his nearest and dearest involved, too. Very, very willing. Too willing, even. It's not every day you see a man choke out his own daughter with a lead pipe, but if you ever feel a sudden urge to, just fire up No Mercy 2003 on the WWE Network. Vince squared off against Stephanie in a no-holds-barred 'I Quit' match on that show, with the added stipulation that the loser would be fired. If you've never seen this match, you might expect Steph to somehow come out on top - maybe an upper-midcard babyface interferes and saves the day, popping the crowd and leading to a feel-good PPV moment. Instead, Vince chokes out his daughter until Linda McMahon is forced to throw in the towel. Yup, Linda was involved in this whole charade as well. This match gets bonus creepy points for its hype video, which features spliced-in recordings of an infant Stephanie saying "I love you daddy". Just...ugh.
