On his return at last week's SmackDown, Paul Heyman did what he's done brilliantly in WWE for a great number of years: assured us that he is still the centre of relevance.
His heel heat wizardry off the back of ECW alone is worth several novels, so for the sake of time, let's stick to the past 10 years and his assurance within WWE that there was no dream capable of coming true except for the Heyman/Lesnar dream.
Following Brock's killing of the streak, the more the endless victories and less-than-minute squashes upset fans in their millions, the louder Heyman bragged about them. It seemed that our pleas of protest were part of the plan. The disdain, distress and ultimate frustration at the fact that Lesnar was still irrefutably one of the most dangerous athletes on the planet was rocket fuel for Paul. There was a real "I told you so" factor behind his vocalising of 'The Beast's' ongoing success.
Well, at least it fizzled out eventually... except now, he advocates one of the most disliked mens in recent wrestling memory.
