5. Hulk Hogan Turns Heel In WCW (1996)
Emotion comes in many forms, and isn't restricted to those moments of love or forgiveness. Hatred can also be considered emotional, and it certainly was on July 7, 1996. On that evening, WCW presented the Bash At The Beach pay-per-view, and the entire landscape of the wrestling business changed forever with one utterly massive decision. Since the mid-1980's, Hulk Hogan had been the biggest good guy in all of wrestling. It was unthinkable to imagine Hogan being anything other than a babyface, but WCW helped make history in that regard. Dropping a leg on 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Hulk joined forces with the invading Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to form the 'New World Order'. Instantly, people were shocked beyond belief. That soon gave way to intense hatred of Hulk Hogan and his new cohorts. By the time Hulk said the rubbish fans had thrown into the ring represented them, the audience were ready to wring his neck. There was definite emotion in the air, wrestling fans were furious over the idea of Hogan turning heel, even though many had been booing him for years.
