4. Christian Wins The World Heavyweight Title In Front Of Edge (2011)
It's fair to say that Vince McMahon has never really viewed Christian as anything more than a solid in-ring performer. He's certainly not the kind of guy that McMahon would agree to build a company around as World Champion, but that didn't mean Christian couldn't still have his moment in the sun. A career-ending injury to Edge forced World Heavyweight Title plans to change in the Spring of 2011. A proposed Ladder Match between Alberto Del Rio and Edge was changed when it became clear the latter wouldn't be able to perform. Taking his place, Christian went on to win the bout at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on May 1. With that victory, he captured his first World Heavyweight Championship, a landmark moment for the man personally. From the ring apron, Edge watched with tears in his eyes. Growing up together as huge wrestling fans, both men dreamed of someday holding the World Title. Now, both had fulfilled that ambition, which must have taken them back to their days as wide-eyed youths. There was a legitimacy to Edge's tears, he wasn't acting. Looking up at his best friend going crazy, the guy couldn't help but show his emotions.
