Daniel Bryan captured lightning in a bottle by teaming with Kane as 'Team Hell No' in 2012. By the following year, Bryan had been transformed from the popular mid carder he was in 2011-12 into one of the most cherished on the roster by fans. Make no mistake: people wanted Bryan to be a WWE headliner.

That seemed to be set in stone when Bryan beat John Cena cleanly at SummerSlam 2013, captured the WWE Title, and had his hand raised by special ref Triple H. The big swerve happened seconds later when 'The Game' planted Bryan with a Pedigree and watched Randy Orton cash in Money in the Bank to break fan hearts.

The start of The Authority storyline that dominated much of the next few years, this SummerSlam moment was met with a combination of sadness and sheer anger. At least all that angst was worth it when Bryan won the big one at WrestleMania XXX.

Back in the summer of 2013 though, fans were irate that WWE had screwed them over.
