10 Most Entertaining WCW Cruiserweights Of All Time
4. Jushin Liger
Similar to the original Tiger Mask's groundbreaking 1982 match in Madison Square Garden versus the Dynamite Kid, Brian Pillman and New Japan Pro Wrestling legend Jushin "Thunder" Liger's rematch for the WCW World Light Heavyweight Championship at Superbrawl II in 1992 set a standard and template that American cruiserweights have followed for a generation. Of course, Liger and Pillman's feud continued on WCW's Monday Nitro debut in 1995, a run that also included matches with the likes of Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Juventud Guerrera, too. Of course, his 1999 run in WCW was marred by poor booking that involved the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship falling into the possession of Juventud Guerrera after "The Juice" smashed Liger over the head with a bottle of tequila. Though Liger won the championship back a week later, the embarrassing switch was never officially acknowledged by New Japan.
