Breaking through the ring to announce your arrival is certainly one way to grab peoples attention. But you may say Kane had already gone one better than that wth his debut at Badd Blood: In Your House 1997. Crashing the first ever Hell in a Cell match between the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, Kane emerged to the chilling tune of a pipe organ and under a spooky reddish hue. The monster of a man then seized the cell door and ripped it from its hinges before finally confronting the Undertaker. Engulfing the ring in flames with his trademark arm-raise-and-drop, Kane then stole the Undertakers very own move as he drove his brother into the canvass with Tombstone Piledriver. Much like the debut of the Deadman, this was a supernatural-type gimmick which many may have scoffed at, but for the sheer size and physicality of the Big Red Machinenot to mention the impressive production value for the time. It was a hugely effective debut for another of the companys most dominant stars, while it also provided us with another gem of commentary from Vince McMahon: Thats gotta be Kane! Indeed it is Vince, you did sign the man after all.
