It's been a while now since Seth Rollins broke the hearts of WWE fans everywhere by destroying The Shield with the chair shot which was heard around the world, so it's about damn time that a DVD and Blu-ray set is released putting the spotlight on the dominant trio. While it appears as if at least some of the main feature will be a repeat of the brilliant SummerSlam documentary which aired on the WWE Network last year, the official listing for this set reveals that it will also cover the respective early careers of Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns, as well as the formation of The Shield and their entire WWE journey. It should make for fascinating viewing, and may even remind some WWE fans why they loved Reigns not too long ago! There isn't a lot in terms of special features, but the set more than makes up for that with hours of matches before, during, and after The Shield's run. Some of these go as far back as a triple threat match between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Leakee/Roman Reigns in FCW and Rollins' reign as NXT Champion before diving straight into The Shield's WWE debut and the tremendous matches which followed. Those include The Shield's epic battles with The Wyatt Family and Evolution, along with a number of solo matches which took place between the men following the end of the team. With content like that, there's no way this isn't 2015's most essential WWE DVD/Blu-ray.
