WWE star R-Truth has fired back at claims Triple H made during the latest season of Unreal on Netflix. The show's second season includes comments from Hunter broaching a controversial firing then re-hiring of Ron Killings in June 2025. According to the boss, this is the truth. Pun intended: "He immediately went out on social and said he was fired, which...he was never fired. Contrary to prior belief, he was never not under contract with us".

R-Truth himself has poured cold water on that.

He told The Breakfast Club that WWE chiefs specifically told him not to "come to work" when calling him about the would-be release from his contract. Truth pointed out that he only had a week to go on his deal when that phone call came in, so he's rather confused as to why Hunter would claim he wasn't cut loose in the first place.

When Killings asked, "Am I done now?", he was told yes. "There was no flight, no calendar. What do you call that?". It's a valid point - if WWE didn't plan on releasing Truth from his contract and had been interested in further negotiations on fresh terms, then they'd surely have laid that out to the guy over the phone at the time.

Instead, there was significant backlash as fans rallied in support of Truth. The uproar about WWE's decision was so loud that the company quickly decided to pivot and bring him back with a shock return at Money In The Bank on 7 June. That was less than a full week on from his 1 June "release" (which Trips claims never technically happened).

The whole situation sounds messy, but Truth is keen to clear up any confusion.
