One cannot put a figure on the cost of Goldberg's famed streak coming to an end, but that undefeated run ending - and, more importantly, how WCW handled Da Man in the aftermath of this - certainly had at least a small role to play in the eventual downfall of Ted Turner's rasslin' promotion.

Of course, WCW would be out of business by early 2001, with the then-WWF assimilating their former rival.

The end of Goldberg's streak came at Starrcade '98 thanks to Scott Hall and a cattle prod helping Kevin Nash get the 1-2-3 and the WCW World Heavyweight Title. Goldberg would never again be WCW World Champion, the company would have zero idea what to do with him, a bungled heel turn was attempted and spectacularly failed, and WCW would be out of existence barely two years after the 1998 edition of Starrcade.

To say Goldberg's loss to Nash caused WCW to collapse would be hyperbolic, but that loss and the subsequent misuse of Bill meant WCW ended up leaving so much money on the table when it comes to Goldberg.
