The Undertaker and Kurt Angle had many great battles over the years, with 'The Olympic Hero' one of only two men to make 'The Deadman' tap out (Brock Lesnar is the other), neither of which resulted in a clean finish to the match. Even so, Angle was consistently portrayed as the equal of 'Taker, a man who had the wrestling skill and integrity to cause him some real problems.

'The Phenom' still managed to get the upper hand overall in the rivalry, although the 12 televised singles matches between the two were equally shared (four victories each, four draws). The Undertaker was far more successful in tag team competition against Angle, with 'The Olympic Hero' only getting two tag team victories over 'Taker (nine).

The two also took part in a number of legendary multi-man matches, including the famous six-man Hell in a Cell match back at Armageddon 2000, won by Angle. It is a shame that the two never got to put on a WrestleMania match, especially once 'Taker's 'Mania bouts became more about quality than anything else. They had some wonderful battles however, and with Angle now in charge of RAW the time is right to revisit them.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
