9. JBL Vs. The Big Show - No Way Out 2005

At WrestleMania 21, the nine-month-long WWE Championship reign of JBL would come to a merciful end. Unfortunately, the month before that, it had to hit what was arguably its nadir, when the champion defended his title against The Big Show.

A regular match pitting JBL and Big Show against one another would have been bad enough, but this was a barbed wire cage match - meaning that the top of the cage was covered in barbed wire. Still, the winner would have to escape, screwing up the psychology of the bout.

The match was full of nonsense, like JBL climbing up to the top of the cage only to remember the danger that awaited, and a pair of bolt cutters getting introduced just to be used as a weapon. In the end, Big Show planted JBL with a Chokeslam from the top rope, smashing the champion through the ring. Show then broke the cage door open and walked out, but just before his feet hit the ground, JBL emerged from under the ring, reaching the floor to be declared the winner.
