8. Karrion Kross Goes For The Gladiator Look
Enjoying one hell of a start to life within the WWE system, it looked as though Triple H's latest pet project was destined to take the main roster by storm back in 2021.
Karrion Kross had the epic entrance, and looked like the sort of intimidating bloke you wouldn't want to bump into on the street. He even had a decent presence in-between the ropes.
But said aura was completely smashed to pieces within a few weeks when the time came for the NXT powerhouse to kiss goodbye to all things black and gold.
Being handed a goofy-looking helmet, some body straps, and stripping away the aforementioned theatrical arrival and his spooky valet Scarlett, Kross became a bondage warrior overnight.
That obviously wasn't the intention, though. Instead, the former NXT Champion would eventually note to Table Talk (via Fightful) that the idea behind the awful mask and leather look was to present Kross as WWE's very own gladiator.
Admittedly, the lower body guard portion of the costume that was introduced in NXT wasn't actually all that bad - but this gladiator's final form on the red brand was a career-derailing moment Kross has never fully recovered from.
