10. Undertaker Bids Michaels Farewell (WrestleMania 26)

There may have been a time 13 or 14 years earlier where, despite his unmatched talents, the wrestling business would have been a happier place without petulant, political Michaels. After something akin to an early mid-life crisis that apparently mellowed out his insecurities, Michaels became the performer he always could have been: the world-class grappler without a chip on his shoulder.

The last eight years of his career saw Michaels perform at his apex level, without any of the nasty dirtsheet fodder stimulated by his actions and attitude. The world realized just how much this Michaels was going to be missed when he succumbed to Undertaker's Tombstone in a retirement bout.

Knowing that Michaels was probably going to stick to his word (and he has for six years) made it difficult to watch Undertaker drop his ghoulish facade and hug him, just Mark and Shawn at that point. Moreso than a cage match that featured the same false billing without much sincerity, this was truly an 'end of an era'.
