10 Most Iconic WWE WrestleMania Images
8. Benoit And Guerrero Stand Tall (WrestleMania 20)
The last nine years have gone by with coats of whitewash splattered onto this picture (well, half of it anyway). Tragic circumstances and a public relations nightmare have excommunicated Chris Benoit and all of the good he had done. To this day, the entire fallout and reaction is still being argued, but what can't be argued is what this moment meant in its time.
To imagine Benoit or Eddie Guerrero holding a World Championship in WWE was once a laughable notion. They were the hard-working, but undersized, mechanics of a bloated WCW roster. Their treatment in WWE was a little better, and they enjoyed prolific times, but could they really rise above the taller musclemen of the WWE main event scene?
When Benoit tapped Triple H to close out an emotional WrestleMania 20, Guerrero joined him in a tearful embrace that was as cathartic as it was somewhat disbelieving. The fans that pulled for both underdogs had their mavenism justified. The image may be tarnished now, but it certainly wasn't then.
