Finally, after much speculation, All Elite Wrestling came to life on Being the Elite's 1 January 2019 episode:-

It was the most important episode in the popular web series' history and they saved the big news 'til the end, building up to it with All In clips and footage of Cody walking through the Tokyo Dome Hotel. Outside, he met Hangman Page and The Young Bucks. It looked like they were counting down to the new year until the penny dropped. The Elite walked in front of the camera, music hit, and the excited quartet held their phones to the lens, unveiling AEW and Double or Nothing at the same time.

Further details emerged in the aftermath. An AEW rally was confirmed for Jacksonville, Florida on 8 January, where further details would presumably be announced. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez also reported that while Cody and The Bucks weren't signed to AEW, they would be soon, adding that Tony Khan was the company presented, wrestlers were being tied down to multi-year contracts, and All In' success "wasn't lost on TV people."

Cue: all the hype in the world.
