Debuting in the WWE in 1999 alongside Essa Rios, Lita soon established herself as a Diva who was a little bit different than the other women of the roster. Combining a punk rock edge with a high flying arsenal of moves that she was not at all shy about showing off, Lita would quickly eclipse the popularity of her charge and move on to bigger and better things in the company. Following Rios heel turn, Lita linked up with The Hardy Boyz to create Team Xtreme, which quickly became one of the most popular factions of the early 2000s. It was during this era that Lita would begin establishing herself as an in-ring performer as she was heavily involved in the TLC matches that were popularised during the era in addition to beginning her long feud with Trish Stratus during this time. Though Lita had a huge impact in the WWE over the course of her career, winning the womens title on a number of occasions, it has to be said that the Monday Night Wars were nearing their end when she debuted and thus she didnt leave quite the mark during the period that she would later leave. Despite this her high-risk style and unique look made her extremely popular very quickly and set the stage for what would be a decorated career in the WWE.
