The prototypal WWE Diva, Sunny made her in-ring debut in WWE alongside Chris Candido as a pair of fitness instructors named The Bodydonnas back during the era where it seemed that every WWE wrestler needed to have a side gig. She made waves in no time at all, managing Skip and the newly recruited Zip to the tag team titles in addition to being AOLs most downloaded woman of the year in 1996, which was heavily hyped on WWE TV. It was during this period where Sunny would begin laying the groundwork for what WWE would eventually start looking for in their Divas. Her sultry good looks and amazing promo skills allowed her to create the character of a cunning gold digger who always seemed to end up managing the tag team that was holding the belts during the period. It was those looks that really allowed her to shoot to fame though and she quickly became a focal point of WWE programming as the company started moving in a raunchier direction during their efforts to compete with the then dominant WCW. Despite her successes, Sunny also developed a reputation as being something of a troublemaker backstage and was eventually released from her contract. However during her time she reinvented the way the WWE looked at women on their shows and laid the foundations for the eventual success of those who followed her.
