Sable took the Attitude Era by storm and was the perfect remedy for those adolescent male fans who were a little cut up about Sunnys departure from the WWE. Many will likely look back on the bikini contests that she engaged in with a certain level of fondness if nothing else. Sable was much more than just a pretty face though and she successfully built on the foundations that Sunny had laid to become one of the most popular stars of the Monday Night Wars. At one point she was even rivalling the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin in popularity. As Kevin Nash once put it, anytime Sable was on Monday Night Raw the ratings battle would swing in favour of the WWE regardless of what WCW was offering. She combined her model looks with an in-ring prowess that owed more than a little to the efforts of Marc Mero, Luna Vachon and Jacqueline. Her wrestling only increased her popularity levels and she soon burst into the mainstream, thanks in large part to a Playboy appearance that was claimed to result in the largest selling issue of the magazine during the period. Sable was also the primary reason why the WWE Womens Championship was revived and managed to thrive, regardless of the actions of Madusa on Nitro. Despite eventually running into issues with the WWE, including filing an enormous lawsuit for sexual harassment, Sable was a pivotal part of the Monday Night Wars and played a huge role in the pendulum swinging in WWEs favour.
