10 Most Important Milestones In WWE NXT History

10. NXT Begins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJJJADzvSQ0 NXT hasn't always been the crisp wrestling show that we see today. The original show consisted of pairing 'Rookies' with WWE main roster members who were labelled as 'Pros'. This was a very silly concept from the get go. Daniel Bryan, who had been wrestling for over a decade before the first season of NXT started was paired with The Miz of all people. It was a kick to the proverbial gut of Bryan's career to date if anything. The Rookies competed in pretty silly challenges. The lowest ranked star every week was eliminated until there was one sole winner left. A whole host of current top WWE superstars took part in the event, while some less than successful graduates from the show didn't last too long on the main roster. The winners of each of the four seasons were: Wade 'Bad News' Barrett (Season 1), Kaval (Season 2), Kaitlyn (Season 3) and Johnny 'Fandango' Curtis (Season 4). The show, in that format, was scrapped before the fifth season started.
