Whilst many fans felt that Charlotte should not have won this match, no one can deny the importance of the match itself. It was the retirement match of the outfit accessory that was the Divas Championship belt, and the revival of the revamped Women’s Championship.

The women's triple threat was built fairly steadily after all three made their main roster debuts simultaneously and then split up to fight each other for the title. At a time when the WrestleMania card itself looked totally underwhelming, the women's storyline had been allowed to develop over time - an element in women's wrestling of the past that was rare, to say the least. The other integral aspect of this was that it was a triple threat match; previous WrestleManias had given us tag matches, battle royals... nothing that really felt important.

The match itself was built around a storyline of betrayal and jealousy, but contributed to the concept of these women building a legacy for themselves and their division, something that hasn't ridden on a women's match in a long time.
