10 Most Important WWE Stars In Raw History

5. The Rock

The Rock is arguably the most successful wrestler ever because of how big of a movie star he's become in the last decade. He's also one of the most important wrestlers in the history of Monday Night Raw. When he started in WWE towards the end of 1996 it didn't look like he'd become a top guy, but it happened quicker than any of us ever anticipated. He was the WWE Champion within two years, had developed into one of the best talkers and went on to become a top guy for the next five years or so before turning into a movie star. If he never left WWE he really could have been as impactful as any performer ever. His promo skills are what really made him stand out. Best promo man ever? He might be. Nobody can really talk on the microphone like he can. His charisma is unparalleled. He had so many legendary rivalries in WWE mainly with Steve Austin and Triple H. His recent return starting in 2011 was fun although it was a different kind of Rock. He was bulkier, a bit slower and maybe off a bit in his timing, but it was still fun to see him back in WWE. The only thing preventing him from being higher on the list is that he really wasn't a regular on Raw for that long. He left WWE in his early 30s to pursue a movie career. Considering his bank roll, he made the right choice. With that said, he just doesn't have the number of years as some of the other guys ahead of him.
