A boatload of wrestlers were considered as the one to break The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak before Brock Lesnar came along, though King Kong Bundy stands out for how early he faced 'The Phenom' in his run.

This was just The Undertaker's fourth match at WrestleMania. The Streak would have never become A Thing had WWE derailed it there and then, dissolving into nothing as the promotion deprived themselves of an incredible marketing tool, a vital part of the event's fabric, and a cornerstone of 'The Deadman's' legacy. Would he have still become a legend? Absolutely, but perhaps not to the same level.

The story goes that Vince McMahon was extremely high on Bundy heading into WrestleMania XI. He wanted to promote him as a big, dominant monster, and didn't want him to drop a fall at 'Mania, so he was going to have him go over 'Taker via interference. Thank God this didn't happen. Undertaker ended up taking the W in one of his less spectacular 'Mania performers, but imagine all the solid gold we'd have missed out on had Vince gone with his gut.
