It must be said that in the grand scheme of Hulk Hogan controversies, this actually likely ranks quite low on the totem pole.

But that still doesn't mean the sight of The Immortal backstage politicker wiggling his way into a main event didn't rub more than a few people up the wrong way at 'Mania IX.

Adding to an already deeply disappointing evening, instead of thoroughly backing a star who at one point seemed like Vince McMahon's new main man in the wake of the company's steroid scandal, the ball was once again handed over to Hogan in what would become the show's impromptu main main event.

With Bret Hart and Yokozuna already pointlessly duking it out inside of Caesar's Palace, good ol' Hogan would finally save the day post-salt-in-the-eye-shenanigans. Then, before those in attendance and around the world (and Yokozuna and The Hitman for that matter) knew what had hit them, another era of Hulkamania and Hogan WWF title reign was well underway after yet another McMahon last-minute decision to head in a "different direction", one that would also see Hogan promise to and then typically refuse to put Hart over in return later down the road.
