9. The Wyatt Family (2016/7)

'The wilderness' may have been a suitable storyline home for Bray Wyatt's rotating gang of hillbillies, but it more accurately described their main roster presence since their 2013 arrival.

As one of the first acts from the Full Sail-era of NXT to pique fans' interest, The Wyatt Family were expected to run roughshod in the big leagues, rapidly propelling leader Bray to a top title and global prominence.

But despite high level WrestleMania matches against John Cena, The Undertaker, and The Rock, they were never considered anything other than fodder for the main stars.

Bray's promos were too cryptic, too vague and frankly too boring.

Furthermore, outside of Luke Harper, the group were below-par between the ropes, save for their epic wars with The Shield (more on those later).

Amazingly, the inclusion of a similarly freewheeling Randy Orton was the missing piece of the puzzle.

Playing the long game as babyface destroyer of the Family, 'The Viper' played it really long, and the trio notched a tag title win, glory in the Raw vs Smackdown Survivor Series contest, and Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber victories.

The Family may now be destroyed once and for all, but amazingly, they went out with a bang, rather than a whimper.
