The sudden inclusion of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas to an injured Kurt Angle's act would inadvertently propel the two Ohio Valley Wrestling standouts to their highest career point at the first attempt.

Given to WWE Champion Angle as a 'gift' from his manager Paul Heyman in December 2002, Team Angle were thrown in at the deep end of the blue brand's riotously successful tag division, which had generated a 'Smackdown Six' label for Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Edge following the sextuplet's endless series of incredible matches.

Their time together as a trio was short, but beautifully sweet.

Talented amateurs in a past life and driven professionals from Jim Cornette's famed OVW class that also included Brock Lesnar, Batista, John Cena and Randy Orton, Haas and Benjamin fit like a glove, scooping the tag titles in February and allowing the 'Olympic Gold Medalist' to assert his dominance over the show despite secretly nursing a broken neck.

With Kurt recklessly unwilling to go under the knife until after his WrestleMania clash, Team Angle did the heavy lifting for him, performing out of their skin in some fabulous six-man contests until their leader's surgery and recovery sent 'The World's Greatest Tag Team' into the doubles division permanently.
