10 Most Influential British Wrestlers Ever (According To An American)

3. Billy Robinson

It's rare that a New Japan show called by Jim Ross and Josh Barnett does NOT feature at least one Billy Robinson reference.

Lauded as a wrestler's wrestler, Robinson was a catch-wrestling specialist who made a name for himself on several continents, who helped train a generation of technically proficient grapplers in both mixed-martial arts and professional wrestling. He was a gatekeeper, a man who even in his later years would take to the mat to show students how to get the job done.

Competing everywhere from Canada to Japan, he was a true international star like few British wrestlers before him, and his influence is still prevalent today in the in-ring styles of talents like 'The Gracie Hunter' Sakuraba, Barnett, and others.
