10 Most Infuriating Roman Reigns WWE Moments
3. Number 30 - Royal Rumble 2017
The 2017 Royal Rumble match looked to be the most stacked edition of the bout ever, but it turned into a huge disappointment. Though fans expected a host of surprises in the match, most of the unannounced entrants turned out to be midcarders who simply weren't hyped beforehand. That, combined with a backloaded match in terms of big names, made for a lackluster contest.
Still, it could have been saved had there been a surprise at number 30. Instead, when the buzzer ticked down, out came Roman Reigns, who had lost a Universal Championship match earlier in the evening. Fans were furious; even those who had given up and gotten used to the idea of Reigns in the main event were caught off guard and very disappointed.
Reigns ended up eliminating The Undertaker (who, after Brock Lesnar and Goldberg were gone, was the last major fan favorite left), and then finishing the match as runner-up. Reaction to his run in the bout was so universally despised that once again, rumors of a Reigns heel turn started to gain steam. Still, there's no evidence supporting that, and a ton of reason to think that what we've seen for the past two years will simply continue.
