10 Most Insane Conspiracy Theories In WWE History
7. Vince Russo Was A WWE Plant
Everyone has an opinion on Vince Russo. He’s one of the most divisive and controversial figures in wrestling history, and whether you subscribe to his ideas or not, it’s impossible to diminish the impact he has made on the business. Whether as an architect of WWE’s Attitude Era, WCW’s demise, or TNA’s slide to irrelevance, he’s had a hand in the fortunes of almost every major American wrestling company.
As bad as his TNA stint was, Russo’s time in WCW remains his “finest” work. From saddling David Arquette with the WCW World Championship to the David Flair/Stacey Keibler marriage angle, he’s responsible for some of the worst ideas in wrestling history. WCW’s death is a deep subject with many perpetrators, but Russo’s hackneyed booking unquestionably played a role in grinding the company to dust... but was that the plan all along?
Russo did so much damage to WCW that many believe he had to be a saboteur, with Vince McMahon pulling the strings. Nobody could be that incompetent, right?
Theorists suggests that Russo has been a McMahon puppet all along, but this isn’t just a fan theory. Bill Goldberg has openly supported the idea on several occasions in the years following WCW’s death, adding further weight to the argument.
