10 Most Insane Demands Wrestlers Ever Made

8. Jerry Lawler's Confusing Characterisation

When Jerry 'The King' Lawler signed a contract with the WWF in 1993, it seemed logical to presume he'd become an exclusive talent. That's WWE's normal protocol to this day, especially for stars the size of Lawler in his prime. Back in '93 however, Jerry was able to wangle himself a different kind of deal.

Namely, he'd continue working in his native Memphis territory. That didn't look like a major problem on the surface, because the USWA was a WWF feeder, and it made sense to placate Lawler's love for his own business back home.

The fact he appeared as a babyface in Memphis was mighty confusing though.

Things became even weirder when babyface WWF talent like Bret Hart and Vince McMahon, then an inoffensive good-guy announcer, made their way to the USWA as heels. To any WWF fans watching or in attendance (which, granted, wouldn't have been many), it must have been super-strange to see Lawler as a hero and Hart as a villain.
