10 Most Insane Things WWE Has Done In The Empty Arena Era
6. Street Profits Vs. Viking Raiders (with The Assistance Of Akira Tozawa's Ninjas)
The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders had a natural feud ready to go whenever the writers wanted to. The Raiders were dominant NXT tag team champions who relinquished the titles upon getting called up to the main roster. Before leaving NXT, they fought the Street Profits who wanted to prove themselves as NXT's new main tag team, but neither team could get the victory due to interference. After the Raiders had left, the Street Profits won the belts at Takeover XXV, taking the spot that Ivar and Erik left behind.
When they reached the main roster and won the tag belts off of Seth Rollins and Murphy, the Street Profits were now in the opposite position they were in NXT, and a feud that would result in a decisive victory for one team seemed inevitable. Instead, they went bowling, axe throwing, golfing and played basketball for weeks on Raw before having the worst "match" of the year on Backlash, an absurdly unfunny, jingoistic nightmare that was too long and paid off nothing.
During this abomination, Akira Tozawa, one of the most talented cruiserweights in the world, showed up as a leader of a gang of ninjas for no explanation and embarked on a war with the two teams for no reason. Since then, the Profits easily beat the Raiders on Raw to end the feud, and Akira's ninjas are still getting time on Raw as he participates in the 24/7 division? Madness.
Also, there was a bin monster.
Yup.
