With TNA's prominence, heritage, and wealth rapidly swirling down the toilet, 2016 was all but the delayed nail in the coffin. They were going to go bust after Bound For Glory 2016, a pay-per-view that did little to justify their continued existence, before an unidentified third party provided enough money to keep them afloat.

Frankly, they should have folded after the 16 January 2016 Xplosion.

"Jessie Godderz has all the tools it takes to be a World Champion", Josh Mathews yelled, all while Godderz - in the midst of his ignorantly pretentious Chris Masters 'Masterpiece' ripoff - slaved his way through a match with the atmosphere vacuum that is Mahabali Shera. Both were greener than Shrek's sh*t, neither had an ounce of credibility as a pro wrestler, and their supposed 'match' from the antecedent Xplosion was as much a match as Shane McMahon is a striker; none of it landed where it was intended.

It felt and looked like a training match you'd see behind closed doors, not a match produced by one of the top pro wrestling organisations in the world that has clocked up 17 million views as of press time.

Who's watching this dross, man?

The same people who watched two declining old farts lumber their way through a Bound For Glory match, apparently...
