2. Tyson Fury - JRE MMA Show #47
From his debut as a professional boxer in 2008 to his current status as the consensus best heavyweight in the world, Tyson Fury has embarked on one of the most tumultuous careers in the history of all sport.
In 2015 it appeared that the undefeated fighter was on top of the world after capturing the heavyweight title from long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko, but it wasn't the case.
In his appearance on the JRE back in 2018, Fury explained that fulfilling his life's ambition to be world champion had left him feeling that he had nothing more to achieve professionally, leading him into a deep period of depression.
Fury became addicted to drugs and alcohol and ballooned up to over 400lbs. He also remarked that he came close to taking his own life before realising that he had to stay alive for his children, and to reclaim his place at the top of the heavyweight division.
What makes Fury's story so inspiring is how he has recovered despite sinking to such considerable depths. It is even sweeter to go back and listen to his conversation with Rogan now after he defeated Deontay Wilder earlier this year to once again become World Heavyweight Champion.
