10 Most Meaningless WWE Royal Rumble Wins

2. Sheamus - 2012

Sheamus won the 2012 Royal Rumble from the number 22 position, in what has to be considered one of the most underwhelming booking decisions of all time. He was meant to be a big babyface, but nobody really cared about him. Perhaps picking up on the lack of interest, WWE rendered his Rumble win meaningless when they booked his title shot to be the curtain jerker of WrestleMania 28. Even more embarrassingly, WWE booked the match to last just eighteen seconds. Sure, they put Sheamus over as he won Daniel Bryan's World Title. But what did that really mean? An eighteen second curtain jerker title change? It killed the belt and also seriously devalued the Rumble's prestige. So much for winning a spot in the WrestleMania main event!
